251. Won't Hurt a Bit - Leslie

  • FADE IN:

  • INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT

  • ANDREA sits on the large bed in her nightgown.

  • A leather case sits next to her on the night stand.

  • THE BOY lies next to her, his back to her.

  • A large TV sits in the cabinet at the foot of the bed, garish headlines announcing a serial killer, The Black Widow, on the loose.

  • The anchors' mouths move excitedly.

  • ANDREA (VO)
  • The Boy and I were watching the news last night. He was more interested than I was. I was focused on how lucky I was to have found such a beautiful, intelligent boy.

  • She leans over and strokes him on the cheek.

  • ANDREA (VO)
  • All those silly anchors were interested in was the body count. They said the victims suffered terribly before they died. Silly little TV people.

  • She turns The Boy towards her, revealing that his hands are bound in front of him and he is gagged, his eyes wide with fear.

  • ANDREA (VO)
  • They don't know what they're talking about. I always promise my pretty ones that it won't hurt at all.

  • She flips open the leather case, revealing a breath-taking collection of razor-sharp knives.

  • Andrea carefully selects one.

  • ANDREA
  • Darling, it's going to be a lovely night.

  • FADE TO BLACK.
