- FADE IN:
- INT. INT. APARTMENT - DAWN
- ERIN sits up on the old couch, skillfully avoiding a rusty spring that pokes out of one of the cushions.
- Sunlight trickles in through a small window.
- The room is bare except for a small table with an old laptop and a few scripts piled next to it.
- She throws off a thin blanket and stumbles to the sink which is full of dirty dishes.
- She looks in the sink, wrinkles her nose and turns to the refrigerator.
- There's an old container of soy milk, a half empty jar of pickles, a loaf of bread, and some cheese.
- She sighs and contemplates the food situation, then opens the jar of pickles and grabs of handful of pickles, chewing on them and wiping her hands off on her pjs.
- She stops, looking at her hand in disgust, then shakes her head.
- She walks across the room to the small bathroom and takes off her clothes, then steps into the shower.
- She finishes up and steps out, a towel wrapped around her.
- She opens the closet; there is a little black dress, a few jeans, two t-shirts, a thick jacket, and three sets of silvery-white dresses.
- She finishes drying her hair, then selects one of the dresses.
- She pulls it on, then reaches for a box on the closet floor.
- She opens it, revealing a platinum blond wig.
- She pulls a hair net from the bag and tucks her brown curls into it, then carefully adjusts the wig.
- She slips into the bathroom, doing her makeup in the mirror.
- She turns, a mirror image of Marilyn Monroe.
- She walks into the living room, a vision of elegance in the middle of squalor, then straightens, tightens her jaw and practices her smile for a moment before walking out the door into the morning sun.
- FADE TO BLACK.
